Tashlich update: Rosh Hashanah Afternoon

After the Morning Service Thurs. Sept. 5

Featuring Rabbi Pam Frydman and Rob Tobias

1:30 pm - Potluck Lunch and Tashlich led by Rabbi Pam - We will enjoy lunch and cast crumbs into the water symbolically letting go of mistakes, habits, patterns and ways that we have missed the mark.

2:30 pm - Songs of Renewal and Healing for the New Jewish Year led by Rob Tobias - We will sing many of Rob's songs and other songs, both new and traditional, as we continue to heal from the past and renew and pray for a good year ahead.

Location will probably be Tugman Park across the street from Unity. Details at the Morning Service.

Rabbi Pam will lead us in song, discussion & ritual as we ask for forgiveness and as we pray for what we need in the coming year without telling anyone except G’d and our own heart what we need to be forgiven for.

The ritual of casting of bread into the water, including songs, and prayer, has become one of the most meaningful occasions in our Ad Olam Holy Days. A song circle wll follow lunch. Come if you can. BYO picnic or share. Location to be announced.

Yom Kippur is traditionally a day of fasting. We end the day with a ritual sharing of food. Please bring a “Biblically Kosher” dish to share (no pork or shellfish). Labels with ingredients are helpful for the diverse needs of our community.
