Yom Kippur Afternoon Happenings –
Saturday Sept 18th
Said Rabbi Shimon ben Gamliel “There were no days as festive as Yom Kippur afternoon.” In this spirit we offer a very special afternoon of happenings.
Session One ………1:45 – 2:45 pm
Yom Kippur Dreaming (Gary Reiss, Annie Greenburg) A time to share and work with the dreams, dream-like experiences and visions we have had around themes of the holidays
Singing Alive (Rob Tobias) Participatory singing and moving together. Multi part songs that awaken us at our core, moving us into the new year.
Session Two …...…2:55 – 3:55 pm
Yom Kippur Movement (Penny Salas) Let's put all our “think, feel, pray” energy of looking pastward and forward into physical expression through movement.
Mindfulness Meditation (Barry Nobel) Mindfulness – the art of being more fully present – enriches the practices of teshuvah (return/repentance), tefillah (prayer), and tzedakah (charity/justice).
Memorial Service (Yizkor) 4:00-5:00 pm
Donations:
All are welcome to participate in our services. We do not charge or sell tickets, but rather request a tax deductible $25 or more donation per adult for each of the four main services (2 morning and two evening), or an appropriate amount based on your financial situation. Donations can also be made at the door. Make checks out to Ad-Olam. All money goes to support the work of Ad-Olam and our combined collaborative efforts make these services possible.
We need volunteers for this and other events throughout the year. Let us know what your interest and talents are on the mail back form. This is especially important if you are unable to contribute financially.
